What Are the Inc. Regionals?
The Inc. Regionals are an extension of the nationally recognized Inc. 5000, which ranks the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. While the Inc. 5000 looks at the country as a whole, the Regionals zoom in on specific geographic areas, offering a closer look at the businesses driving economic growth at the local level.
Companies are ranked by percentage revenue growth over a two-year period. To qualify, a business must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent. This year’s Midwest honorees posted a median growth rate of 69 percent between 2022 and 2024, and collectively added 8,171 jobs and $5.2 billion to the regional economy.
Being included among these 144 companies is a strong signal that a business is scaling effectively and operating with consistency, especially during a period shaped by inflation, supply chain disruptions, and broader economic uncertainty.
